SEO SEO Help Files SEO Tips

Ben Norman's Top SEO Tips ?

I am always getting asked if I have any good SEO Tips so I have created a list below to share them. Some of them may seem pretty easy but I have included them for all levels of skill:

  • Meta Data.
    • Avoid multiple keyword repeats (it is still spamming).
    • Include a good description not just few keywords separated by a comma (surfers see the description and if it doesn't look relevant they still wont click on you regardless of your position).
    • Page names relevant to content and words separated by - or _ (search engines give preference to keywords that are incorporated into the page name).
  • Site Structure.
    • Clean HTML (search engines will validate it easier).
    • Easy to navigate site structure (easy for the search engines and surfers to find content).
    • Sitemap including just a list of links to all of your pages (Search engines and surfers can find content much faster).
  • Web pages.
    • Free of javascript and flash (search engines hate it).
    • Relevant ALT tags for your images taking into account keywords (Blind peoples screen readers can interpret your pictures and so can the search engines).
    • Table id tags (let Search engines know what the table is called).
    • Rich with content and keywords (search engine go for content so let them have it and lots of it).

Anything you would like to add to the SEO Tips ?

If you can think of something that you would like to see on this page drop me an email and i will add it on.
