Should you be Worried About Schema.org

If you haven’t already heard, there’s a new type form of universal markup. This has been created under the cumulative watchful gaze of Google, Bing and Yahoo in an effort to bring better standardisation to the Internet and improved understanding of context for search engines.

The news hasn’t exactly been met with comprehensive acclaim though, in fact far from it. Some Webmasters see this as extra unnecessary work, designed to make us all conform to the demands of the ‘big 3′. Whilst there may be a shred of truth in this theory, there is plenty to celebrate about this new code.

Why Context is Vital for SEO Success

The phrase ‘content is king’ often gets bandied around in SEO circles. Not without good reason either. It is pivotal in ensuring that search engines understand what you’re all about, it is a unique identifier and is a link enabler.

However, not all that far away from content is its close neighbour context.

Whilst content provides the bulk, context delivers the value. It is what will get search engines to take your site seriously and help deliver the rankings you deserve for the terms you are going after.
